Our Deep Sport Massage targets the deeper layers of your muscles. It’s used to treat muscle and tendon injuries, pain, and stiffness in your major muscle groups and joints.
It involves applying sustained pressure using slow, deep strokes to target the deeper layers of your muscles connective tissues. This helps to break up scar tissue that forms following an injury and reduce tension in muscle and tissue.
The treatment can often feel "painful in good way" and it is common to get "exercise pain" a few days after.
The massage therapist will warm up your muscles using a lighter touch. Once you’re warmed up, they’ll start working on your problem areas. They’ll use elbows, knuckles , fingers, palms and/or different tools for deep kneading and stroking with varying amounts of intense pressure.
Depending on the therapist choice of techniques and the customers need, the treatment can be done with or without oil .
For this treatment you are undressed down to your underwear to ensure good access for the therapist, but covered with a towel or blanket on parts not currently being treated.
The basic techniques used in our Deep Sport Massage are similar to therapeutic and aroma massage, but focus on muscle and tissue health.
In addition, these techniques often apply more friction and deep, slow pressure, which helps reduce the accumulation of acids that inhibit muscle health. Other techniques focus on reducing damage to reach the stage where the body's natural healing process takes over.
