Ayurveda means "knowledge of life" and is an ancient health science originating in India.
It describes the human as a whole composed of many qualities where each individual has their special qualities that shape the personality.
Tridosha - three basic energies. According to Ayurveda, there are three basic energies; tridosha. These energies are said to control all biological and psychological functions. The three doshas are called Vata (air and space), Pitta (fire and water) and Kapha (water and earth). Each individual is a combination of these three, one of which is usually dominant. According to Ayurveda, all ill health is caused by imbalance in and between these doshas. Massage is one of the most important and enjoyable methods to bring the doshas into balance and thus promote health and well-being.
